Drop In On Tour!

Grants Co-ordinator Andy Naylor smiling with an attendee at a Camden Giving grant drop-in session. They are sitting at a blue table with laptops and a notepad in a community centre.

We are always amazed by the amount of creativity we see in applications to our We Make Camden Kit, well thought out projects that will go on to really make a difference in the borough. We also know that these projects started as brilliant ideas, often popping into someones head while they are waiting for a bus, making a sandwich or brushing their teeth. We fund enough fantastic gardening projects to know that a great idea is like a plant, left by itself it could just wither and die, but given the right amount of encouragement, attention and light it could bloom into something beautiful.

Every month we run a drop in session for precisely these reasons, we want these ideas to flourish and become more than a scribble in a notepad. Last year we ran a regular, really well-attended drop in session in Kings Cross that helped many people to really iron out a plan to assist them with their application. This year we decided we wanted to get a few more steps in and take our drop in sessions on tour round the borough. For the first half of 2026 you can find us at:

Tuesday February 3rd@ Maiden Lane Community Centre, 156 St Pauls Crescent, NW1 9YA From 9.30-11.30am

(This drop in is specifically for people applying to our Estates and Communities Mission)

Monday February 9th @The Orangery Restaurant, 81 New Oxford Street, WC1A 1DG From 2-5pm

Monday March 9th @The Greenwood Centre, 37 Greenwood Place, NW5 1LB From 2-5pm

Tuesday April 14th @Highgate Library, Chester Road, N19 5DH

We will be announcing further dates soon and will hope to cover even more of Camden in the second half of the year.

At the sessions you can:

  • Find out exactly how you can apply for our grants

  • Run your idea by us and get some advice on anything you would need to do before you could apply

  • Get some help with making sure your budget adds up and is ready to be presented to one of our panels

  • Have a chat with a friendly team who want you to succeed!

If this sounds good then come and say hello to us. There is no idea too small or underdeveloped. We’d love to be there right from the start of your project and help you build the confidence you need to complete an application.

Look forward to meeting you this year!
