Our Drop-ins are Poppin!
Since last May we’ve been running drop-in sessions all over Camden. From Queen’s Crescent to Highgate, Maiden Lane Estate to Kentish Town and King’s Cross to New Oxford Street, if there are chairs, tables and wifi available then you’ll find us!
We’ve had 46 people attend our sessions and talk about a variety of ideas. Some of them were fully formed and pretty much application ready, some of them were halfway there and some of them were being spoken about for the very first time. One of the best things about our drop-in sessions is seeing someone come in a bit unsure about whether their idea makes sense and leave looking a lot more confident. We don’t expect to see everyone again, some people might not have the time to put their plan into action for a while but at least they know where we are and how they can apply when they are ready.
Here are some stats from our year of drop-in sessions:
Number of people who attended: 46
21 people applied for grants (46 percent)
17 people were successful (81 percent)
So it’s clear to see that dropping in and having a chat with us, getting some clarity on how the process works and being able to run your idea past some friendly ears can really help with making your application strong.
We are booked into Kilburn and Holborn for our next drop-ins and are really looking forward to meeting some fantastic people and hearing about their ideas for projects that will benefit Camden. If you want to find out more about where and when our drop-ins are going to be keep an eye on our website, our social media or simply give us a shout at grants@camdengiving.org.uk
